Four Gorillas Named CSC All-District
GREENWOOD, Ind. - Four Pittsburg State University volleyball players earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors on Tuesday (Dec. 16). The honorees are Don’Yah Cosie, Anna Dean, Maddi LaPointe, and Josie McCroskey, representing the Gorillas with distinction.
Cosie, a senior with a 3.56 GPA in Psychology, finished the season with 216.5 points (2.38 per set) on 142 kills (1.56) and 129 total blocks (1.42). Her 129 total blocks placed 23rd in Division II for total blocks and seventh in blocks per set, highlighting her impact at the net.
Dean, a senior with a 3.83 GPA in Communications, earned first-team D2CCA All-Region honors and was named the MIAA Blocker of the Year. She finished the season with 366.5 points (3.45), 251 kills (2.37), 166 total blocks (1.57), and 14 service aces. Her 1.57 blocks per set ranked fourth in Division II, while her 166 total blocks ranked fifth among DII players.
LaPointe, a 3.59 GPA student majoring in Exercise Science, posted 256.5 points (2.42) on 207 kills (1.95) and 96 total blocks (0.91).
McCroskey, carrying a 3.66 GPA in Elementary Education, led the team with 568 digs (5.21) and added 101 assists (0.93) and 25 service aces, earning MIAA honorable mention honors. She ranked 26th in Division II for digs per set and 27th for total digs.
